CPE, Meeting Room B
Feb. 7, 2001
There was discussion of the National Lincs and Southern Lincs Web sites. There
are Adult Edication and Literacy programs all over the nation that hav agreed
on a format for their sites. The sites for each state contain infomation on
that state's program as well as lincing to a centralized database that all the
program feed their websites into.
Southern Lincs
Louisianna
Arkansas
Virginia
There was much discussion about whether or not to follow the format and whether
or not to create our own database of resources or simply add sites to the already
existing database. If we do not create our own database then we will not have
a searchable database of both web resources (open to all) and resources that
are bought by Adult Education for Kentuckians alone. There was discussion about
sending sites that we think worthy to the Southern Lincs database as well as
including them in our own database. There was also discussion about rtying to
get the records from the Southern Lincs database as a based for our own database.
Beth Kraemer will look into these last two issues to discover feasibility.
