Adult Education Resource DB Minutes

The agenda was set at the beginning of the meeting:

Beth reported her findings with the LINCS folks. Their database is not Z39.50 compliant. She talked with them about grabbing records from their database. They said yes, maybe, for a fee.

There is a desire to cll the knowledge of the experts in the field. To that end the group will conduct a survey asking instructors and program maagers what top five to ten sites they use and would like to see in a database. We will try to get the survey out before the next meeting with a two week turnaround time. Some items to collect on a survey:

Jane will help to gather a list of experts to review sites that are submitted. Sara and Sandy will work with her. She will seek people based on the nav bar categories. We will also add some instructors to the workgroup since it is for them that we are building the resource database.

There was discussion of the subject areas in the mock up.
The EFF link will be taken off the browsing list but will remain a subject that can be assigned to the list. At some point in the future there may be a desire to emphasize the EFF program at which point it can be added to the list again.

The Southern LINCS logo will be added to the bar rather that the text link.
