Writing annotations is a responsibility of SMEs recommending resources for the database. Ideally, well-written annotations will prove of great value in helping end users discern the appropriateness of the resources identified in their searches. Basically, annotations are a time-saver; they help the user decide whether to access the resource or not.
Annotations should be written in full sentences and should cover such information as:
The ideal annotation is not more than 50 words long. If text is taken verbatim from the web site being described then the text used should be placed within quotation marks.
