KYVL for Kids Work Group Minutes

We shared the fleshed out outline that we created at the last meeting.

Wendy Ottman showed us navigation software which they have a license to use, that they are using for other clients. It shows content hierarchy on the left side like computer software, especially MS software, often uses. The hierarchy appears in a left hand frame which would prohibit us from directing students or others to a specific part of the site. Because of this use of frames and because it is non kid friendly/ interesting (small text and basic icons), we decided that we would not use it.

We would like navigation that is more graphic.

We talked about having the links out to other sites and examples appear in a pop-up. We want the browser buttons, location box, scroll bar and resizable window in a pop-up.

We talked about the outline and decided that we need to add a question about the family profile (how big, where doe we live, allergies, etc.) to the list of essential questions. We'd also like to compare two pets, instead of following just one. We talked about a Panda and a cat.

Power Creative's next step is to if they can use the fleshed out outline. They will contact us to request more information if they need it.

We will decide on the next meeting date once we know if it is needed.
