Dear
Coordinators:
Congratulations
to you and your Student Technology Leadership students on being selected from
our contest to showcase the Kentucky Virtual Library in a public service
announcement. Sue Moore, Executive Vice President of the
Council on Postsecondary Education (CPE) staff, wishes to invite the winning
students and teachers to be honored at the next council meeting, on March 15th
, to highlight the program and view the winning entries. The attached item will be included in the
board’s agenda book.
The Council on
Postsecondary Education coordinates change and improvement of postsecondary
education in Kentucky, as directed by the Postsecondary Education Improvement
Act of 1997 (House Bill 1). The Governor appoints the council's 15 citizen
members.
Some of the
council's responsibilities are regulatory (licensing private colleges and
universities, for instance) and some are advisory (such as budget
recommendations to the Governor and the General Assembly). Its most important
function, however, is to help institutions work together to provide more
effective and efficient advanced education to more Kentuckians.
The meeting will be held in
Frankfort at the CPE offices in Conference Room A, beginning at 10:30am
EST. We believe that showing the videos
and introducing the teachers and students would be a great meeting
kick-off. At your earliest convenience,
and no later than March 3rd, could you please let us know if you
could attend from 10:30am to 11am?
We hope you will take
advantage of the opportunity for us to express our appreciation for your
efforts and support the importance of promoting leadership opportunities
through the use of technology.
Best regards,
Enid
