Joint meeting of Kids and Teachers Work Groups

Update on Kids Portal and Tutorial
We discovered that we cannot use the contract that already exists between KYVU and Power Creative. We will be writing an RFP and going out for bids on the Kids Portal and Tutorial. The group will be called on to read and react to the RFP to be sure that it is on track.

Discussion on the K12 Community Page
We need to bring in the new databases and include FirstSearch. We decided to have each to the four subcommunities (Elementary, Middle, High and Teachers) have their own list of databases.
Elementary will have Searchasaurus, Grolier, EBSCO Espanol, and Kentuckiana
Middle will have Grolier, EBSCO middle profile, Proquest, Wilson, NoveList, Kentuckiana, and Searchasaurus
High will have a link to the virtual library because the older students especially should be ready for the transition to college. They will also have listed Grolier, EBSCO high profile, Proquest, Wilson, Novelist, Kentuckiana, and Searchasaurus
Teachers page already exists.

Discussion about permanently combining Kids and Teachers Work Groups
The two groups thought that enough of their work and advice overlapped that the two work groups could be combined into one.
