1.) Endeavor Update – Michele Arms
See: (http://support.endinfosys.com/cust/community/vgroup/eu2004/08.pdf) for presentation.
2.) Training Budget
The training budget is still being investigated.
3.) S.S.L.
Encryption for WebVoyage
Dave has tested a version of S.S.L. with a test certificate and compatible S.S.L. web browser. They have found and fixed a few bugs. The only obstacle now is to figure out who and how Voyager sites will pay for the certificates. Institutions using WebVoyage with the .kyvl.org domain name may have to obtain their certificates through KYVL. All others who use their own local campus domain names should easily be able to purchase their own.. Gary Flanagan indicated that the prices seem to range from $100 to $800 annually, and that Morehead is willing to pay this for themselves as soon as the details are worked out.
4.) Response
testing.
The response testing went well and Tari has gathered in all the information from the various sites and distributed the individual files on a CD. John Detwiler volunteered to organize and collate the data into a single file and a single format.
5.) Service Level
Agreement Benchmark testing
The service level agreement is still being worked on. The current agreement was developed on a shorter basis than previous agreements and will come to an end in 2004. It was suggested that the next time we extend the agreement for more than one year.
6.) Testlib and
Unicode Release
The merits of running Unicode upgrades on the test server were discussed and there was general agreement that we should do some testing. Some sample large, medium and small databases from Eastlib and Westlib will likely be run on the test server rather than running every instance of Voyager on Eastlib and Westlib. Endeavor will need to have a general release first and update the Voyager AIX Update documentation. In September we will try to identify a date when testing can begin and which databases will be tested.
Respectfully Submitted,
Kelly M. Vickery
