Update from Linda Voyles on Ex Libris:

  • Ex Libris is moving to a new CRM (Pivotal?) which "should be an
    improvement".
  • All the developers and managers from Ex Libris are supposed to
    be at EndUser 2007.
  • Voyager 6.5 should be in field testing in April.
  • Voyager 7 should be in general release in Q1 2008.  It will
    include the enhancements voted for, some changes to WebVoyage (mainly cosmetic and accessibility stuff), "standard support interoperability", and some integration with things like Verde.
  • AIX will continue to be supported.

Update from Enid on KYVL:

  • In the next couple of weeks KYVL should be interviewing for the
    electronic resources librarian position that has been vacant since Tim Chase left.
  • Staff changes in KYVC and CPE:  Miko is now senior advisor on
    special projects and the new CIO for CPE is Stuart Johnston.
  • No news yet from the Legislature about the ten million dollar tech bond.
  • Enid is working on updating the wish list for the six-year
    capital plan (available online at the LRC website).  VLAC has been asked for suggestions.  ECWG members can submit suggestions and these should be in by about Wednesday, March 7.  Remember: be vague, truthful, and compelling.
  • Michael Stapleton talked a bit about the Portal Work Group's efforts with the Metalib product.  They are looking at forming a consortium.
  • KYVL needs to implement the software but doesn't have the hardware.

Upgrade reflections - Any outstanding issues?

UK:

  • Experiencing some trouble with double-entries on missing-in-transit report.
  • There are also problems with call slips and recalls when charging some things at a particular location.

Morehead:

  • Users with Windstream have trouble accessing the online catalog system.
  • The authorized headings report will run for shorter intervals but not for an entire year.
  • Sometimes item available notices that should email do not email.

NKU:

  • Item record link problem.

There was some discussion about renaming the workgroup.

The meetings for the rest of the year have been scheduled for the following dates:
*       May 31
*       September 7
*       December 7

Michael Stapleton has agreed to give another update on Metalib for the next meeting.
