1. Voyager update Linda Voyles by conference call

Just completed service pack for Voyager 6.5.3 probably be released in October.  Voyager 7.0 due out in Q1 2008 late.  Mike Dicus’ presentation on 7.0 at EndUser is on Support Web now.  Beginning work on 8.0, soliciting feedback, etc.  Digitools on track for release next year.

Technical certification courses will be available at ELUNA and two times during the year in Chicago

Organizational changes:  Too much to keep up with.

Ex Libris is testing the waters on adding Linux as a Voyager platform.

 2. KYVL update

3. Upgrade to 6.5 or wait for 7.0?
Most seem to feel 6.5 is not important enough to bother although it is apparently necessary to have in order to use Syndetics.

There is some question as to whether present hardware can handle the upgrades and/or full use of current functionality.  This did not seem to be clearly resolved by discussion.

Discussion on setting a summer date for the 7.0 upgrade will be handled via the listserv.  General opinion was that the last week of July/first week of August.were desirable.

4. Space on servers
Limited space in /home.  Use /m1/voyager/xxxdb/local instead.  Michael Stapleton offered to share his auto delete script.

5. Server news

Portal Workgroup news:
Although progress has been slow in the group’s three year history, significant progress has been made recently.  A hardware specification has been submitted and if approved it can be ordered soon.  The group is now working on an MOA.  KYVL is subsidizing nearly the entire cost of this so people wishing to come on board can do so very cheaply.

Next meeting:
The next meeting has been moved to Thursday, December 6, 2007 in CPE Room A.

Rebranding:
Because the chosen acronym is already in use there will have to be another vote on the new group name.
