This section includes statistics on issues related to the well-being of women,
including fertility and childbearing, child care, health, violence, gender equity,
and employment.
- Economic Census, 1997
- This site provides valuable economic data on business owners' race, ethnicity,
and gender. These surveys are part of the economic census program, which
the Census Bureau is required to conduct every 5 years. This series, called
the Survey of Minority-Owned Business Enterprises, is available for states,
counties, and places (cites) of more than 2500 population. The published
data include number of firms, sales and receipts, paid employees, and annual
payroll and are presented by geographic area, industry, firm size, and legal
form of organization.
- Fertility of American Women
- This report profiles current fertility patterns of American women and is based
on data collected in the June 1998 supplement to the Current Population
Survey. The data provided are at the national level. (PDF format)
- Kentucky KIDS COUNT
- Kentucky KIDS COUNT is a consortium of researchers and children's activists who use data to impact public policy. It is part of the national KIDS COUNT project of the Annie E. Casey Foundation in Baltimore, MD. Since 1991, the Consortium has published annually the Kentucky KIDS COUNT Databook, an updated report of social indicators on child well-being in each of Kentucky's 120 counties. This page provides links to reports from 1995 through 2000.
