The drop down menus on the right side of the screen allow you to choose which
field you would like your words to be searched in. Click on the arrow
in the drop bown menu to see your options.

A database may contain full text articles, but not all records in that database
will lead to full text. Any database with a
or an asterisk (*) next to the database name on the search screen contains some
full text.
You can limit your search to those records that have full text.
From the keyword search screen (or title, author, or advanced screens),

If full text is not available in the database you are searching, you will not
see the "Limit search by: Full Text Only" option.

The set size is the number of records you are shown at a time, once you have completed a search. The number that you are normally shown (the default) is ten records. You can change this on the Advanced search screen. Go to the line that reads "Set Size,"

The record format is how each record looks once you have conducted a search.
The Brief Record format usually contains the author, title of article, date of publication, and title of magazine or journal.
The Full Record format shows you all the information available for that item. It usually includes all of the information that was in the brief record plus the abstract, subject terms, and more.

Normally, you will see the brief record after you have conducted a search.
Then, by clicking on the title of the brief record, you can see the full
record. To change the default view to the full record instead of the brief record,

When you search a single database your search is sorted by date. The most recent publication will be at the top of the list.

To change the order in which your records are given to you,
You can usually sort by date, author's name, or title of the article. |

Ascending means A to Z, or most recent to least recent.
Descending means Z to A, or least recent to most recent.
What you can sort by will depend on the database you are searching.
