How to Get an Item Not Available in KYVL

You have found an item that you think would be perfect but it is not available online in full text.

  1. Get the information about the item. Either print it,
    OR
    Copy:
    • Author
    • Title
    • Name of the magazine or journal
    • Date published
    • Page numbers

  2. Contact a librarian at your home institution They will be able to help you get the item (See: "Contacts at Home Institutions' Libraries" to the left).

    OR

    Take this information to your local library where your librarian will be able to help you find it.
    =>It might be on the shelf.
    =>If it's not, the librarian will be able to get the information for you from another library through interlibrary loan. Libraries in Kentucky and all over the world share their resources. If the item is in another Kentucky library, then KYVL helps to speed up the delivery of the item with a state-wide courier service and Internet FAX (Ariel) service. It's possible that a few items that might be unavailable for loan from other libraries, such as reference books.
