How to Get an ID and Password

You can get an ID/Password from your library contact at your home institution. It was also sent to you in your orientation package from KYVC.

When you login to the Kentucky Virtual eLearning Portal, you have access to the Kentucky Virtual Library search interface and a separate id/password is not needed. Login to www.kyvc.org, under My Services, click on the Kentucky Virtual Libary link.

When you are at most member institutions, you will not need to worry about an ID and password to access the databases because where ever possible we have used IP addresses for authentication.

For those who are dial-up Internet access, we have IDs and passwords for access to the subscripition databases. The id/password works only with the WebZ interface when you choose Find Books, Articles and More from the main KYVL page, or when you access the databases from one of the K12 Schools pages or the Kids pages.

Password changes occur twice a year, 15 December and 1 July. After a password change, the previous password will continue to work for 45 days.
