2004 Weaving Tradition and Innovation, Online Resources for Kentucky's Adult Educators via Kentucky's Virtual Library - November 2004
Presentation given at Weaving Tradition and Innovation conference, 2 - 6 November 2004, a joint conference of American Association for Adult and Continuing Education (53rd National Adult and Continuing Education Conference) and the Kentucky Association for Adult and Continuing Education, with Kentucky Adult Education, a unit of the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education. Held at the Galt House, Louisville, Kentucky. "Online Resources for Kentucky's Adult Educators via Kentucky's Virtual Library" highlights the resources available to Kentucky's Adult Educators where attendees learned about basic search techniques for several databases. Participants also learned how use benefits adult learners and an educator's own professional research and development. Presenter: Enid Wohlstein.

Making a Difference in the Middle, Kentucky Virtual Library in Your Classroom - September 2004
Presentation given at Making a Difference in the Middle, September 19 – 21, 2004, a joint conference of the Kentucky Middle School Association and GEAR UP Kentucky. Held at the Executive Inn Rivermont, Owensboro, Kentucky. “Kentucky Virtual Library in Your Classroom.” The session will provide an overview of the resources, tools and licensed databases found at Kentucky Virtual Library that support and promote quality research, information literacy and lifelong learning. Learn about KYVL for Teachers, the How to Do Research Tutorial, and our Virtual Reference Desk with subject-specific annotated web links. Learn about the databases provided by KYVL specifically suited for research by middle school students such as Middle Search Plus, MAS Ultra, Biography Reference Bank and Grolier’s Multimedia Encyclopedia with the Brain Jam. Presentation given at the 2004 Library Media Specialist Summer Refresher conference sponsored by the Kentucky School Media Association, 13 July 2004 at Jenny Wiley State Park in Prestonsburg, Kentucky. “KYVL Databases in the Middle and High School Media Center.” This session will include discussion of important highlights, new features and will include demonstrations and shortcuts of dynamic KYVL databases for students and teachers. KPLA/KLTA Joint Spring Conference, KYVL @ your library - May 2004
Presentation given at the joint conference of the Kentucky Public Library Association and the Kentucky Library Trustees Association, May 5 – 7, held at the Radisson Plaza Hotel in Lexington, Kentucky. “KYVL @ your library.” The Kentucky Virtual Library would like to mutually explore with the Commonwealth's public librarians ways in which they can support each other in meeting our patrons' library needs. Come hear and share ideas, comments, and concerns with other librarians from around the state. Presentation will cover the structure and benefits of KYVL, functions of the workgroups, who are the stakeholders and partners, how to represent and describe KYVL on your library’s website, an overview of information like the database descriptions, Trainer’s Toolbox and KYVL tutorials, and useful KYVL and KDLA listservs available. Presentation will also highlight good examples of Kentucky public library websites promotion of KYVL. Presenters from KYVL and KYVL’s Outreach Workgroup: Allen Ashman, University of Louisville; Cindy Gaffney, Bowling Green Public Library; Tanzi Merritt, Kentucky Virtual Library; and Debbie Sharp, University of Kentucky.
