- Almanac of
the Chronicle of Higher Education
- You can search here for current higher education statistics. The site
contains such things as, SAT and ACT data, and information about financial
aid, faculty salaries, revenues and gifts, trends in faculty employment,
and more.
- Appalachian
Rural Education Network
- The Appalachian Rural Education Network is composed of schools and regional
professional partners in eastern Kentucky and southwest Virginia. It works
to make schools relevant to their communities and to provide young people
with a quality education that emphasizes place and community.
- AskERIC Virtual Library
- "The AskERIC Virtual Library contains selected educational resources,
most of which are developed and/or maintained by AskERIC." This site is
geared toward helping educators. Browse through the lesson plans or check
out the special projects.
- Awesome Library
- "Awesome Library organizes the Web with 14,000 carefully reviewed resources,
including the top 5 percent in education." This site uses a common subject
classification to collect websites geared toward different audiences. Be
sure to choose your audience in the bar along the top of the page.
- Ben's Guide to U.S. Government for
Kids
- "This site provides learning tools for K-12 students, parents, and teachers.
These resources will teach how our government works, the use of the primary
source materials of GPO Access, and how one can use GPO Access to carry
out their civic responsibilities. And, just as GPO Access provides locator
services to U.S. Government sites, Ben's Guide provides a similar service
to U.S. Government Web sites developed for kids."
- Council on Postsecondary Education
(CPE)
- The Council is responsible for general planning and overseeing of the
postsecondary education system in Kentucky. It also coordinates changes
and improvements in Kentucky postsecondary institutions. This website provides
access to Council publications, information about financial aid, colleges
and universities and other postsecondary education-related matters.
- Edsitement
- This website sponsored by the National Endowment for the Humanities, the
National Trust for the Humanities, et al is a "collection of the most valuable
online resources for teaching English, history, art history, and foreign
languages."
- Education World
- Education World is a search engine for educational Web sites only, a place
where educators can find relevant information without searching the entire
Internet.
- Education Professional Standards Board
- EPSB "..is charged with establishing standards of performance both
for preparation programs and practitioners; accrediting educator preparation
programs at colleges, universities, local school districts, and private
contractors; selecting assessments for teachers and administrators; overseeing
internship programs for new teachers and new principals; operating the Continuing
Education Option for Rank change program; administering Kentucky's inventive
program for National Board for Professional Teaching Standards certification;
and issuing, renewing, suspending and revoking Kentucky certificates for
professional school personnel."

- The High School Hub
- The High School Hub is a gateway to free online academic resources. It
features a reference desk, college information, and subject guides for English,
math, social studies, and science.
- Kentucky Center for School Safety
- This site serves as a clearinghouse for news, information, training, and
technical assistance on school violence prevention. It is operated by a
consortium of three state universities (Eastern Kentucky University, University
of Kentucky, and Murray State University), with the assistance of the Kentucky
School Boards Association (KSBA).
- Kentucky Community & Technical College
System (KCTCS)
- Look here for information including programs offered, the fulltext of
the current community college and technical college course catalogs, personnel
policies, job listings, staff directory and links to individal KCTCS schools'
websites.
- Kentucky Department of Education
- The Kentucky Department of Education oversees the Kentucky public school
system.
- Kentucky Department for Adult Education
and Literacy
- This department provides services for adult education, including the GED,
workplace education, English as a Second Language, family literacy, and
education of the institutionalized.
- Kentucky Education Association (KEA)
- The largest professional association in the state of Kentucky, KEA is
concerned with public education, children and teachers' employment rights.
- Kentucky Educational Television
- KET, Kentucky's public broadcasting network, delivers both the PBS national
schedule of programming and a wide variety of local arts, culture, doccumentary,
and public affairs productions.
- Kentucky Educator Preparation
Program Report Card
- This report provides informaton about the state of teacher education programs
at 27 public and independent colleges/universities in Kentucky that are
approved by the Educational Professional Standards Board to offer educator
preparation. There are links to PRAXIS II test results, institution websites
and institutional reports.
- Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority
(KHEAA)
- KHEAA administers state and federal financial aid programs for college
and university students in the state of Kentucky. Learn how to prepare for
paying for higher education, search for scholarships, get online loan counseling
and more.
- Kentucky School Board Association
- The Association provides information, professional development and support
services to local school boards across the state of Kentucky. Their website
includes links to education news, legislative advocacy, upcoming events,
job vacancies, and more.
- Kentucky Teachers' Retirement System
- KTRS administers the retirement system for eligible employees of " public
elementary and secondary schools, Eastern Kentucky University, Kentucky
State University, Morehead State University, Murray State University, Western
Kentucky University, the School for the Deaf, the School for the Blind,
the state and area vocational schools, the Department of Education, and

- Kentucky Virtual High School is a statewide educational service delivering
high school courses and online learning opportunity to Kentuckians.
- Kentucky Virtual Campus
- Kentucky's one-stop place to access web-based distance education courses
offered by Kentucky public and private universities and colleges. You can
view program descriptions, the current course catalog and enroll in an online
course at this website.
- Max Data System
- "Max is an online portal offering teachers, parents, policymakers
and other decision makers public information about Kentucky's schools such
as school and district profiles, financial data, and assessment results."
- Locating
and Selecting Information: A Guide for Adult Educators
- This ERIC Digest provides suggestions on information seeking for adult
educators.
- National Center for Educational Statistics
- This is the site to check for statistics on education. The Center publishes
several valuable reports including-

- Student Guide
to Financial Aid
- This guide, from the U.S. Department of Education, is the most comprehensive
resource to financial aid available from the Department's Student Financial
Assistance office. It includes grants, loans, and work-study information.
- Students.Gov
- The students' gateway to the U.S. Government, Students.gov brings U.S.
Government information and services of special interest to students together
in one website. Apply for financial aid, register to vote, buy savings bonds,
register with Selective Service, apply for a passport, get consumer information,
travel information and more.
- Virtual Reference Desk (VRD)
- "The VRD is a digital reference service designed to answer questions of
students and educators by connecting them to a network of experts."
