Allen County (Indiana) Public Library
This Indiana library has the 2nd largest genealogy collection in the United States. They also have a subject index (PERSI) to over 10,000 local genealogical and historical periodical articles dating as far back as 1800.

This site provides some free databases and many subscription-based databases. It also provides research tools, online bookstore and links to other sites.
Civil War Soldiers and Sailors System
This National Park Service site provides the most complete information on individual soldiers, sailors, individual regiments, battles, prisoners of war, and cemeteries.
Cyndi's List
Cyndi's List is a categorized and cross-referenced index to genealogical resources on the Internet. It is a great starting place for anyone doing genealogical research.
DAR Genealogical Research Library
This site provides information about the services and resources available from the Daughters of the American Revolution's Genealogical Research Library.
Ellis Island On-Line
Use this site to find information about passenger records of over 22 million immigrants who entered the United States between 1892 and 1924.
Everton's Genealogical Helper
This site includes many online genealogy classes. It provides free charts and has over 40 databases, some free but many are subscription-based databases. It also has a search engine that searches over 60,000 links.
FamilySearch
FamilySearch provides access to the extensive genealogical resources gathered by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The database may be searched by Ancestor search, Custom Search or Keyword search. There is also a link to the Family History Library Catalog. This is a superior site in which to begin researching your family history.
