States. They also have a subject index (PERSI) to over 10,000 local genealogical
and historical periodical articles dating as far back as 1800.

- This site provides some free databases and many subscription-based databases.
It also provides research tools, online bookstore and links to other sites.
- Civil War Soldiers and Sailors System
- This National Park Service site provides the most complete information
on individual soldiers, sailors, individual regiments, battles, prisoners
of war, and cemeteries.
- Cyndi's List
- Cyndi's List is a categorized and cross-referenced index to genealogical
resources on the Internet. It is a great starting place for anyone doing
genealogical research.
- DAR Genealogical Research Library
- This site provides information about the services and resources available
from the Daughters of the American Revolution's Genealogical Research Library.
- Ellis Island On-Line
- Use this site to find information about passenger records of over 22 million
immigrants who entered the United States between 1892 and 1924.
- Everton's Genealogical Helper
- This site includes many online genealogy classes. It provides free charts
and has over 40 databases, some free but many are subscription-based databases.
It also has a search engine that searches over 60,000 links.
- FamilySearch
- FamilySearch provides access to the extensive genealogical resources gathered
by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The database may be
searched by Ancestor search, Custom Search or Keyword search. There is also
a link to the Family History Library Catalog. This is a superior site in
which to begin researching your family history.

or place. Map viewers are provided to enable graphical display of the feature's

History and Genealogy Reading Room
- The Local History & Genealogy Reading Room provides one of the world's
premier collections of U.S. and foreign genealogical and local historical

- The Library of Virginia provides digital access to more than 2.2 million
original documents, photographs, and maps, and has more than 80 fully-searchable

- This site provides over 200,000 digitized records from the Pennsylvania
State Archives including Revolutionary War Military Abstract Card File,
World War I Service Medal Application Cards, and Spanish American War Veterans'
Card File.
- Roots Web
- RootsWeb includes a number of search engines and databases, access to
the GenConnect bulletin boards for posting messages by surname, region,

- Use this site to do an interactive search of the U.S. Social Security
