Indians of the Pacific Northwest
- This digital collection focuses on the Native peoples of the Pacific Northwest
and includes approximately 7,700 pages of text supplemented by 2,300 photographs.
These resources are drawn from the collections of the University of Washington
Librarie, the Cheney Cowles Museum, Eastern Washington State Historical
Society in Spokane, and the Museum of History and Industry in Seattle.
- Ancient Architects
of the Mississippi
- Produced by the National Park Service, this site is designed to provide
information about the Mississippian societies that flourished throughout
the southeastern portion of North America from approximately 800 A.D. to
the time of European contact.
- Archaeology Channel
- This site allows users to view films that have been produced by a number
of organizations, including the Kentucky Heritage Council. Among the films
focusing on Native Americans are "The Adena People: Moundbuilders of Kentucky"
and "Saving a Kentucky Time Capsule".
- The Avalon Project
at the Yale Law School: Relations Between the United States and Native Americans
- In addition to treaties, this collection of digitized primary documents
also includes presidential addresses, statutes and court cases.
- Encyclopedia Smithsonian:
Native American Resources
- Produced by the Smithsonian Institution, this site includes online exhibits
and extensive sources of information on Native American topics.
- Index of Native American
Resources on the Internet
- This website contains links to a variety of information resources concerning
Native Americans that can be accessed over the World Wide Web.
- National Archaeological
Database
- Sponsored by the National Park Service's Archaeology and Ethnography Program,
this resource contains bibliographic information on archaeological site
investigations that can be searched at both the state and county level.
Maps are also available showing distribution of cultural artifacts.
- Native American Constitution and Law Digitization
Project
- This cooperative venture between the University of Oklahoma Law Center,
the National Indian Law Library, and individual Native American tribes provides
full-text legal documents such as treaty texts, Indian land titles and tribal
codes.
- Native
American Sites
- This site, which also serves as the American Indian Library Association
Web Page, aims to provide credible information about Native Americans. One
of its particular strengths is its list of home pages for a number of Native
American nations.
- NativeTech
- This educational website is an excellent resource for information about
Native American technology, arts and crafts.
- William S. Webb Museum
of Anthropology
- This museum, partially funded by the Kentucky Humanities Council and the
National Endowment for the Arts, is a service of the Department of Anthropology
at the University of Kentucky. It includes a timeline and historical data
about Native Americans in Kentucky.
