Finding Books and Articles: What is a Catalog?

A library catalog is a record of all the items (books, journal titles, and more) that a library owns. It gives you brief information about the item and information about how you can locate that item in the library. If you see something that you would like in a catalog, talk with your local librarian about how you can get it. If you library doesn't own it, it can often be delivered to your library in a matter of days.
