How well does your information source cover your topic? Only you can make this determination! Consider the following questions when you evaluate an information source.
Does your information source appear to provide comprehensive
or selective coverage of your topic?
Which do you
need?
Does it update or supplement other sources you have read? |
Is the information sufficiently complete for your purposes? |
If your purpose is to explore a controversial issue, are all sides presented? |
If your purpose is to learn, is the information sufficiently broad or specific? |
If your purpose is to substantiate information you have found elsewhere, is this information sufficiently documented? Are you confident in the data sources used? |
Does it "add value" to the other information sources you have found? |
