Finding books at your local library is simple! Most libraries list the books that they own in a catalog. A library catalog is a record of all the items (books, journal titles, and more) that a library owns. Most libraries store their catalogs on a computer. The catalog provides brief information about the item and information about how you can locate that item in the library. If you see something that you would like in a catalog, a librarian can help you find it!
The Kentucky Virtual Library provides access to the book holdings of over 20 participating Kentucky libraries. To find books via the Kentucky Virtual Library:
If you find a book when searching the KYVL catalogs that you would like to borrow, ask your local library to request the item for you.
If you can't find the book you are looking for, visit your nearest library and ask a librarian!
