An ENCYCLOPEDIA is a huge collection of information about many different subjects.
An encyclopedia can be in the form of a website, a computer program or a CD-ROM disc. The Kentucky Virtual Library has several encyclopedias you can search online.
Sometimes an encyclopedia takes up many books, which are called "volumes", with a separate INDEX listing all the KEY WORDS in alphabetical order.
The index shows the volume and page numbers where you can find information.
